The right rig
for the job
A flatbed is not always the answer and a wheel-lift is not always enough. Here is what goes out, and when each one is the correct call.
Flatbed deck
The default choice for anything that should not roll: all-wheel drive vehicles, low clearance cars, and vehicles with drivetrain or steering damage. The whole vehicle rides on the deck with nothing turning.

Four details decide
which truck comes
What the vehicle is
Make, rough size, and whether it is loaded. A van full of tools is not the same job as an empty one.
What it is doing
Will it roll? Will it steer? Is a wheel off the ground? This decides flatbed versus wheel-lift.
Where it is sitting
A traffic lane, a parking garage, a ditch or a muddy field entrance are four different pieces of equipment.
Who is with you
How many people, and whether there are children or animals. That changes both the truck and the priority.
