The situation
Plenty of drivers can change a tire in a driveway. Doing it on the shoulder of Highway 20 with traffic passing at seventy is a completely different proposition, and it is where people get hurt.
We bring the jack, the light and the visibility gear, get your spare fitted, and check it is holding enough air to get you to a tire shop. If the spare is missing, flat, or the vehicle has none at all, the tow is available on the same visit.

Follow the sidewall, but the usual rule is under fifty miles and under fifty miles an hour. It is designed to reach a tire shop, not to finish your week.
Then the vehicle needs to be towed to a tire shop, and we can do that on the same call.
Roadside is for getting you mobile again, not for permanent repairs. A tire shop should inspect and repair or replace it properly.
On a narrow shoulder, it is usually safer to get out on the far side from traffic and stand well back behind a barrier. Tell the dispatcher where you are stopped and they will advise.
